Fighting Corruption

Dear Faculty Members,

Transparency International and the 15th International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC) would like to invite you and your university department to participate virtually in the world's most innovative forum for tackling corruption, through our IACC University programme. As an inter-disciplinary and cutting-edge forum featuring up to 50 sessions addressing some of the world's greatest global challenges, the IACC programme is highly relevant for students studying law, politics, business, environmental studies, international relations and development studies, to name a few.

The IACC University programme aims to integrate corruption based issues into existing academic courses in order to engage students in one of the most important public policy issues of our time. The students will develop an understanding of interesting and relevant corruption topics and get the opportunity to discuss and apply their knowledge in the world's most innovative global forum on corruption that brings together leading anti-corruption activists, policy makers, and thinkers from around the world. The students will be able to participate in the conference proceedings via live video streaming and interactive Q&A sessions over the internet and social media tools.

In signing up to the programme, your faculty would receive:

The Conference Programme in July & list of sessions

Recommended readings & bibliographies related to each of the IACC Global Solutions and sessions

An opportunity to engage with other academics, anti-corruption practitioners and researchers through online forums

A brief instruction package to set up the two way live streaming

What would be required of you and your faculty?

Integrating a module or reading materials on corruption in your Fall 2012 curriculum

Engaging your students in class discussion on corruption ahead of the Conference

Availability during the Conference dates (7-10 November 2012)

A lecture theatre or space to live stream the Conference

Minimum technology expertise and set up: webcam, high speed internet, projector linked to laptop
